The acceptable quality level is always different from buyer to buyer, product to product,and process to process . An acceptable quality level is categorized in three diverse principles. The three categories of acceptable quality level are critical faults, major faults, and minor Faults.
Most of the import manufacturers use these classifications of the acceptable quality level to set the maximum number of faulty units, beyond which a lot will be rejected. Such as manufactures of the product set a level of quality that no more than 3.5 % faulty items in total, in the entire over quantity, on average over several productions runs with the supplier.
When the product is made on a sampling basis and ready to be shipped, then before shipping, the product passes through the step of inspection. At the time of inspection,many quality level tools are used to check the recommended quality of the product.Sometime it is tough to understand that the prevention of quality issues defects should not be measured through an acceptable quality level. The reason is trusting on final inspections to find out any faulty products or quality problems will cause significant postponements in production. They will be a waste of time and investment.

The Process of Acceptable Quality Level

First: Acceptable Quality Level 1%
Second: Acceptable Quality Level 1.5
Third: Acceptable Quality Level 2.5%
Fourth: Acceptable Quality Level 4%
Fifth: Acceptable Quality Level 6.5%
Sixth: Acceptable Quality Level 10%
The acceptable quality level standard used through checks is the focus on the price and quality of the product.
Usually, a lesser figure acceptable or tolerable quality level standard (1%) is used for the higher valued and higher
excellence garments. In comparison, a higher figure standard (10%) is used for lower valued, lower excellence garments.
As per the standard of acceptable quality level, the AQL for a garment factory is 2.5% for major faults and 4 % for
minor faults.Moreover, critical faults generally necessitate a zero acceptance level, and any products that fail to meet
the customary acceptance quality level will undertake a 100% inspection.
